Asian Pear Seeds – Heirloom, Non-GMO Fruit Seeds for Garden Planting
1. Seed Preparation:
Soak Asian pear seeds in water for 24 hours. Stratify by refrigerating in moist paper towels inside a sealed bag for 60–90 days to mimic winter conditions.
2. Germination:
After stratification, plant seeds in seed-starting mix, 1/2 inch deep. Maintain soil moisture and keep at 20–25°C (68–77°F). Germination may take 2–4 weeks.
3. Transplanting:
Once seedlings reach 4–6 inches in height, transplant to larger containers or directly into well-drained, sunny garden soil. Space trees 15–20 feet apart.
4. Growing Tips:
-
Requires full sun (at least 6 hours daily).
-
Prefers loamy, slightly acidic to neutral soil (pH 6.0–7.0).
-
Regular watering is essential during the first 2 years.
-
Prune yearly to maintain shape and encourage fruit production.
5. Harvesting:
Asian pears are typically ready for harvest in late summer to early fall when the fruit is firm, crisp, and aromatic. Fruits ripen on the tree.
