Pinguicula cyclosecta {Dulces Nombres, Nuevo León} is a perennial heterophyllous butterwort and the smallest of the orchid-flowered species. This remarkable plant produces two distinct seasonal rosettes: a summer rosette of 6–12 carnivorous leaves covered in dew for trapping insects, and a winter rosette of 35–80 compact succulent leaves.
The name “cyclosecta” comes from the Latin cyclus (circle, wheel) and sectionem (cutting, division), referring to the circular shape of its corolla. Its striking foliage and seasonal transformations make it a highly desirable species for collectors of Mexican butterworts.
Perfect for terrariums, windowsills, or specialty plant collections, Pinguicula cyclosecta offers both rarity and charm.
