Pinguicula laueana {Sierra Mixe, Oaxaca} is a perennial heterophyllous butterwort and one of the most beautiful carnivorous plants in cultivation. This montane species produces distinct seasonal rosettes: summer growth of 5–8 oval carnivorous leaves in shades of dark green to burgundy, often accented with red venation, and winter growth of 30–50 closely packed succulent leaves.
Named in honor of Dr. Alfred Lau, this exceptional species is highly prized for its brilliant red flowers, which make it stand out among butterworts worldwide. Native to the Sierra Mixe region of Oaxaca, Mexico, it is a rare and collectible plant for enthusiasts and serious growers alike.
