1. Seed Preparation:
Soak seeds in water for 24 hours. Then place them in moist paper towels inside a zip-lock bag. Refrigerate for 2–3 months (cold stratification) to simulate winter conditions.
2. Soil & Pot Selection:
Use well-draining potting mix rich in organic compost. Start seeds indoors in small pots or seedling trays.
3. Germination:
Place pots in a warm, sunny location (20–25°C). Keep soil consistently moist but not soggy. Germination can take 1–2 months.
4. Transplanting Outdoors:
Once seedlings reach 3–5 inches in height and outdoor temperatures are stable, transplant them into your garden or vineyard with full sun exposure.
5. Watering & Care:
Water regularly during dry spells, especially during the first growing season. Add mulch to retain moisture and suppress weeds.
6. Support & Training:
Install a trellis or support system early to guide vine growth. Prune annually to encourage fruit production and air circulation.
